Subject: Complaint of  IFJ and NUJI against alleged targeting/ harassment of journalists

Sir,

Reference your email dated 20/05/2020 forwarding IFJ’s media release dated 20/05/2020, on the subject mentioned above,we request you to provide details of the working journalists in print media who  reportedly have been harassed by the authorities  so as to enable the Council to process the matter.

Reference other two incidents of alleged targeting of journalists mentioned  in your media release, I may inform you that the matter related to police summoning one Indian Express reporter is under consideration of the Council.  The issue related to a journalist in Ahmedabad  booked for sedition for a story suggesting possible change in the State leadership is outside the jurisdiction of Council for being reported in electronic media.

Yours faithfully,

Sd/-
