Haridwar. Addressing the two-day national convention of the country's largest journalist's organization, National Union of Journalists, India, through virtual medium, the Chief Minister of the state Pushkar Singh Dhami assured all possible assistance for the interests of journalists. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, while expressing regret for not attending the program, welcomed hundreds of journalists from 24 states across the country in Devbhoomi and said that in today's strong era of democracy, the media faces many challenges, which journalists face every day. Addressing this two-day convention of Haridwar through virtual medium, he said that independent journalism is the soul of healthy democracy. He expressed hope that the discussion arising from today's convention will bring a revolution in the entire country. At the end of his address, he welcomed the journalists who came from every corner of the country to Devbhoomi in the national convention.
In the two-day national convention of National Union of Journalists, India, Uttarakhand's Cabinet Minister Ganesh Joshi said that just as Uttarakhand became the first state in the country to make UCC, similarly, Journalist Protection Act will be implemented in Uttarakhand too. He said that journalists are the mirror of society. Mr. Joshi said that journalists not only propagate the welfare schemes of the government but also inform about their shortcomings. The Cabinet Minister invited journalists to organize the next conference in Mussoorie. He said that whatever pain of the journalists or their interests have come before us, I will present it before the Chief Minister as your lawyer. You are demanding a Journalist Act. He said that since independence, the form of journalism has changed a lot. The cooperation of journalists in the creation of Uttarakhand state can never be forgotten.

On the second day of the National Convention of the National Union of Journalists India, NUJ National President Ras Bihari said that regional journalism has been of great importance in Uttarakhand. He had a major contribution in the formation of the state and the expansion of Hindi. Due to government policies, it became difficult to run newspapers. In today's era, there are many channels. Some people brought out newspapers in the wrong way, due to which the government had to make policies. He said that such complaints have been received that discrimination is done in giving advertisements to small newspapers and channels in Uttarakhand. NUJ President said that I demand from the state government that it should also pay attention to stopping government corruption in the advertisements given to the media. Considering the financial condition of small newspapers and small channels, they should also be helped. Uttarakhand should set an example like UCC for other states by making a journalist protection law.

NUJI Secretary General Pradeep Tiwari raised many issues like Journalist Protection Law, Media Council and Journalist’s Pension Scheme. Taking care of small and medium journalists, he appealed to the government from the stage that you give advertisements to big newspapers which have a lot of money but small newspapers do not have money even to run their livelihood, they should also be taken care of. He said that earlier journalists used to get railway pass, but that facility of ours was also removed. He demanded from the government that whatever issue of the interests of journalists was raised from this platform, the government should seriously consider it and implement it.

On this occasion, State President Sunil Dutt Pandey, State General Secretary Dr. Naveen Joshi, Chief Convenor and Haridwar District President Adesh Tyagi, National Vice President Shiva, Rakesh Rana, Vimlesh Sharma, Secretary Amlesh Raju, National Organization Minister Pramod Goswami, newly elected President of Election Commission Ashok Kinkar, other members of Election Commission Dadhibal Yadav, Rajat Gupta, former National Vice President of the State Brahmadatt Sharma, Former member Press Council of India Prasanna Mohanti, Convenor Ramchandra Kannojia, District General Secretary Dr. Shiva Agarwal and a large number of women Journalists were present. The program was conducted by Convenor Dharmendra Chaudhary. Convenor of NUJI Women Cell Pratibha Shukla, member Anita Chaudhary and member of NUJ and senior journalist Usha Pahwa were honored on the stage.
