Female journalists were honored in the national convention of NUJ.

Haridwar. President of National Union of Journalists, India Ras Bihari said that we stand with the small and medium newspaper owners. Due to the wrong policies of the government, most of the newspapers are on the verge of closure. NUJI is ready for every struggle to save small and medium newspapers. The national convention of the  National Union of Journalists (India)  affiliated to the  International Federation of Journalists started at Prem Nagar Ashram, Haridwar. On the first day of the two-day convention, the organization's demands were discussed on Journalist Protection Act, restoration of Working Journalist Act, formation of Media Council, formation of Media Commission, National Registrar for Journalists, financial assistance to small and medium newspapers, rules for digital media, formation of accreditation committees in all states, opposition to retrenchment of employees in media institutions, proper salary, fixed working hours, pension to journalists, health insurance for journalists across the country, bus travel facility in all states, restoration of 50 percent concession in railway travel.

At the same time, on the occasion of International Women's Day, women journalists associated with the organization were honored by presenting shawls and souvenirs. The meeting of the National Executive of the country's leading Female journalist of NUJI started on Saturday in the Govardhan Hall of Prem Nagar Ashram under the aegis of National Union of Journalist India, Uttarakhand unit Haridwar. More than 200 representatives from 22 states participated in this Convention. The National Program Committee was inaugurated by lighting the lamp by NUJI National President Ras Bihari, Secretary General  Pradeep Tiwari and other members. At the beginning of the meeting, tribute was paid by observing two minutes of silence on the demise of senior member of NUJI Uttarakhand unit Haridwar Prof. PS Chauhan, Press Club Haridwar President Amit Sharma's father Narottam Sharma and young journalist Arun Sharma. After this, Uttarakhand State President Sunil Dutt Pandey threw light on the activities of the organization.

Along with this, he thanked the national leadership for granting permission to organize the program in Haridwar. Chief Convener and Haridwar District President Adesh Tyagi said that organizing the National Working Committee in Haridwar is a matter of pride. He heartily welcomed and greeted all the guests who came to attend the program. On the occasion of International Women's Day, women journalists associated with NUJ I, Sulekha Sharma, Kanupriya, Sampa Dey, Reena Rana, Rakhi Khasola, Sushma Saxena, Bharani Goswami, Meenakshi Verma, Indrani Sarkar, Babita Chauhan, Deepshikha and from Haridwar, Pratibha Verma, Kumkum Sharma, Neelam Saini, Manju Negi and others were honoured by presenting shawls and mementos. On this occasion, the programme was conducted by coordinator Dharmendra Chaudhary.

Nawaz, Kashiram Saini, Nitin Rana, Shiv Kumar Sharma, Mukesh Verma, Sandeep Rawat, Rao Riyasat Pundir, Pulkit Shukla, Dinesh Bhardwaj, Sachin Saini, Mayur Saini, Ashish Mishra, Ranjinikant Shukla, Naresh Gupta, Amit Gupta, Vivek Sharma, Sumit Yash Kalyan, Sanjay Arya and other dignitaries were present.
