New Delhi January 7, 2015:- The National Union of Journalists (India) is shocked to learn that Gunmen have attacked the Paris office of French satirical magazine Charlie Hebdo, killing 12 people including 10 journalists and injuring seven in an apparent Islamist attack. # According to the information, Charlie Hebdo's editor-in-chief and the cartoonist who drew the cartoons, was named in Al Qaeda's most wanted list in 2013. Charb was reportedly among those killed in today's attack. # “We are disturbed, shocked and condemned this incident. This incident however, shows that there are several other hazards that media workers face in seeking fair and equal representation within the media in France. We call upon to the France Government to ensure the safety of media workers in Paris and book the culprits who are behind this heinous crime and extend our support to griefed family.” said the Secretary General NUJ(I). ## Office Secretary NUJ(INDIA)
