The last editions of Mid Day Delhi and Bengaluru see the light of day, today. Jagran Prakashan (JPL), that had acquired Mid Day in May 2010, has decided to close down Delhi and Bengaluru editions of Mid Day.#
Mid Day officials have said that the paper will maintain a bureau and a sales office in these cities, but the announcement of Mid-day shutting its Delhi and Bangalore operations has left the employees in total disbelief.
In an internal mail, Mid Day’s Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Mid-Day Infomedia, Manajit Ghoshal informed the team that the decision has been taken by prolonged losses the company had incurred on these two editions.#
The development will see Mid Day focussing further on its Mumbai edition. Mid Day Gujarati or Inquilab are not affected by this decision.
