DECLARATION OF COMMENCEMENT OF ELECTORAL PROCESS
FOR DJA ELECTIONS FOR 2020-21

DJA ELECTIONS (2020-2021) CIRCULAR

Dear friends,

As per my previous mail of November 27, 2019 this is to remind you that the Executive Committee of the Delhi Journalists Association affiliated to the National Union of Journalists (India) at its meeting held on October 23, 2019 decided to hold the elections of the next executive committee and appointed me as a Returning Officer for conducting the elections.

In consultation with the office bearers of DJA  and senior leaders of the NUJ(I), I have drawn up the election schedule for the elections of one President, four Vice Presidents, One General Secretary, Three Secretaries, one Treasurer and Fifteen Executive members of the DJA.

The election schedule is as follow :-
a. Nominations to be received Thursday, Jan. 02, 2020 to Friday Jan. 10 upto 4.00 pm.
b. Scrutiny of nominations Saturday, Jan 11, 2020 at 3 pm.
c. Withdrawal of nominations by 4.00 p.m. on, Thursday, Jan. 16, 2020
d. Polling will be held at DJA Office on Thursday, Jan. 23, 2020 from 10.00 a.m. to 5 p.m.
e. Counting will commence immediately afterwards and the results will be declared as soon as possible.

A member should have completed at least 12 month on the live register of the union before he/she is eligible for election to the Executive Committee. It is hereby specifically mentioned that the nomination of any member who is found flouting the spirit of the resolution adopted by CHHITTORGARH UNION COUNCIL meeting regarding membership of a rival association/s stands rejected.

No nomination will be considered valid if the candidates, the proposers and seconders have not cleared their membership dues upto December 2019 at the time of scuritny. The members who fail to pay up their dues upto December 2019 will not be eligible to cast their vote. However membership fee can be deposited before casting the vote on polling day also. The Candidates can have a copy of the list of members of the Association as on November 30, 2019 from the DJA office on payment of Rs 500 (Rs Five Hundred only) per set.
